This week Sofia Gancedo, co-founder and COO at Bricksave had the opportunity to sit down with Mariano Gorodisch, financial journalist and economist for El Cronista and Channel 9 as well as representing ‘Economan’ the superhero of savings on Bendita TV.
Sofia: “Mariano, many thanks for taking the time to sit down with the Bricksave team today and share a bit more about yourself. Maybe you could tell us about your background and how you became one of the go-to economists in Argentina today?”
Mariano: “I have been working for the Financial Section of El Cronista Comercial for the past 10 years, I have an MBA from UADE where I earned a journalism scholarship. I am also passionate about the world of investment and personal finance.”
Sofia: “So with the experience you’ve acquired over time what would be the one piece of advice you would give individuals looking to save money and to get the best possible returns.”
Mariano: “Not to be tempted by large returns, as a large return means a larger risk. Diversify, so that if something goes wrong, you can lean on other investments.”
Sofia: “And is there anything you would suggest to people to do doing in today’s investment climate?”
Mariano: “Take advantage of the Argentine bond market, which gives a 7% annual return, much more than the rest of the neighbour countries, and which is a conservative investment with immediate liquidity.”
Sofia: “Over the last few months you have had an in-depth look at Bricksave, what is the main thing that you appreciate about the model and the investment opportunity the site offers.”
Mariano: “That you can invest from US$2,500, which is great to diversify your portfolio.”
Sofia: “How do you see the future of investing and current disruptive models such as real estate Crowdfunding that are gaining traction around the world?”
Mariano: “It is an amazing instrument as it enables not only to diversify investments but also to enter the real estate market with little capital.”
